Cancellation/Late Arrivals / No Show Policy

Missed appointments are costly in lost time, energy and revenue, and it prevents me from providing services to other clients. I understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. Business meetings, project deadlines, flight delays, car problems, snowstorms, and illness are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling an appointment. In my desire to be effective and fair to all of my clients and out of consideration for my time, I have adopted the following policies:

  • At least 48 hours notice of cancellation is expected. This would allow me to offer your canceled time slot to another client who may be waiting for an appointment. 24-hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment.  If you are unable to give me 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment.

  • This cancellation policy is standard in the medical and mental health fields and will be strictly enforced. The only time I will waive this fee is in the event of serious or contagious illness or emergency.

  • The phone # to call for cancellations is 301-326-3941 . You may call this number at any time of the day or night to leave a voice-message.

  • Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show”. They will be charged the full fee for their “missed” appointment.

  • Appointment times have been arranged specifically for you. If you arrive late your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, we will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start your session. Regardless of the length of the late session actually given, you will be responsible to pay for the “full” session.
